Rewriting Tired: What If It’s Not Your Body, But Your Energy?

Are you tired?

What are you tired of?

What pops into mind when asked that question?  Is it your job or a particular person?  Is it the shit you have to put up with?  Maybe it’s the humdrum life You feel stuck in?  Maybe you’re tired of not having what you want?  Of course, if you lack sleep that also is a factor but then what is the cause of the lack?  Is your mind too busy?  Is there too much on your plate keeping you from sleeping?

Would you believe that we as beings would not tire if we were in complete harmony and balance?  When I heard this, I will admit, I shuttered a little.  The lack of balance was so regular how was I out of harmony so often??

Since learning about this a few years ago, I now like to ask the question, what am I tired of?   It very rarely is that my body is genuinely fatigued but rather that I am in avoidance of something.

Most of what makes us feel tired is the energies of the people, places, projects, events that are weighing on us.  The circumstances that we have to deal with but conclude we don’t know how or are reluctant to handle.  Wanting to sleep may be the way we try to process the challenge with the hope that we will wake up with a solution.  Creating tiredness and the need for sleep may also be a way to disconnect from the situation and offer some space/peace in the moment.

Ever use the phrase, “I am so sick and tired of this?”   you may want to consider switching that up!  The words we speak and or think, affect us way more than we ever consider.  Being so quick to conclude how we will feel even before the task is done (or has begun) cuts off the possibility for something else to show up.  If you decide that _______ makes you tired.  Guess what!  Yes, it will! Because you are programming your mind and body to your conclusion.   Instead of keeping the fixed point of view and preprogramming the feeling of tired you can invite your mind and body to what else could be possible.  Maybe you could be energized by the job, person or activity.  How awesome would that be!

I challenge you to stay open minded and ask, “what else is possible that you never even considered before.”
