A More Grateful Perspective

Good Day Friends!

Here we are with yet another month gone by (this email was delayed due to technical difficulty). Dave and I have been making the best of our weekends out at the lake. Our young adult children seem to be living their best life too. It’s rare that they are chilling with us these days (I was no different at that age).

With the turn of the calendar the count down to harvest 2023 begins. As many of you know, I was raised on a farm near Humboldt, my roots run deep on that land and I am honored to assist with the combining each Fall! When you have a desire in your heart to do multiple things you do what you can to make it work. The juggle between jobs over the Fall months keeps me on my toes and my heart overflowing with gratitude! Which brings me to this months topic, “Opening yourself up to pleasure offers you a more grateful perspective.”

What brings you pleasure? What lights you up? What brings you joy?

As life gets busy and pulls us in numerous directions we sometimes find ourselves stuck in a mundane routine. The joy and pleasures of life slip away and we are left wondering how we got there. The how does not matter. The important thing is to get it back. Experiencing pleasure in life, even the simple pleasures, sets ourselves up to naturally have more gratitude. The more gratitude we have the more ease and joy we will notice in our life and living. To have gratitude you must acknowledge what you have received. Your willingness to receive pleasure and joy is another important factor.

If you find yourself stuck with little to no pleasures in life, know that you can turn it around. It begins by shifting your mindset. There has to be a yearning to change. A knowing within that is telling you there is more to life and it’s time to go get it. Once you set your mind to it, it’s time to take action. Create opportunities that bring you joy. (no excuses) By creating these opportunities you are telling yourself and the universe that you are important, you are worth it and that you are open and willing to receive the pleasures of life. The last step is the most important of all, You must acknowledge all the little and big things with a grateful heart. Your perspective on life changes from experiencing lack to over flowing with pleasure and gratitude.

I have challenged myself to keep a list of every single thing that I can be grateful for, it has amazed me how much I over look when I am not focused on watching. I have noticed that the more I acknowledged the more wonderful things showed up. It created a continuous growing cycle of gratitude and joy.
